:: going gypset ::

Have you ever learned about something for the first time and then immediately after, you see it EVERYWHERE? Last month, someone used the word "gypset" and (thankfully) explained that it's a style trend that straddles gypsy/boho and jetset/resort wear. I thought, "cute, but complicated". And now everywhere I turn, it's gypset all over the place.

I still think it's kinda complicated--gypsy means flowy and carefree and "love is free", right? And jetsetters ride in private planes from Montauk to Ibiza, which sounds E X P E N S I V E. Anyway. Here's how Urban dictionary describes the trend:

Fusing the ease and carefree lifestyle of a gypsy with the sophistication of the jet set, the Gypsetters are artists, surfers, designers, and bon vivants who live and work around the globe. Gypset syle explores the unconventional, wanderlust lives of these high-low cultural nomads and the bohemian enclaves they inhabit, as well as their counterculture forbears, such as the Victorian explorers, the Lost Generation, the Beatniks, and the hippies.

Here's how I see it...too much? Also, I so want to try a turban. But I'm too scared.

  1. I actually haven't heard of this before.

    I want to try a turban too but am afraid. I am considering starting with the pretty turban headbands I have been seeing popping up everywhere.

  2. I had no idea that was a style but it explains so much

  3. I'm afraid of turbans too, lol. Im high school I wore a headwrap and the kids called me harriet tubman :(

  4. I haven't heard of this word/style before but now I'm sure I'll start noticing it everywhere like you did. That seems to always happen. lol

  5. That blue dress (and I definitely want to try a turban, maybe I will be a bit bolder this Spring!) xo
